A series of webinars bringing together youth representatives and experts from around the region to discuss the role of youth in the green recovery, organized by the UNFCCC-WGEO RCC Dubai
A coherent and coordinated approach to mitigate the impact of the pandemic while shaping a healthy, green and just recovery, central to the global response, could contribute to long-term sustainable growth.
In this context, there is a pressing need to ensure that youth in the region are equipped and engaged as a key stakeholder in the transformation and post-pandemic recovery of their communities.
In order to facilitate enriching discussion on the role of youth in a healthier recovery, the UNFCCC-WGEO Regional Collaboration Centre for Middle East, North Africa and South Asia – RCC Dubai organized a second webinar under the AGYLE Webinar Series titled: “The impact of Climate on Health and the opportunity to create a healthier environment in a post COVID-19 world”
This series of webinars is part of the Academy for Global Youth Leadership Empowerment (AGYLE) initiative, which focuses on strengthening young people’s roles and skills to enable them to effectively lead and participate in global climate action and is part of RCC Dubai’s work.
The webinar brought together leading health sector experts with youth representative from the region to discuss, deliberate and consider the linkages between climate and health in a post-COVID-19 world.
The webinar began with opening remarks provided by H.E. Dr. Nawal Al-Hosany, Permanent representative of the UAE to IRENA, who emphasized the key role of youth in supporting the global energy transformation towards a healthier planet.
