  • Membership and Sponsorship Manager

    Under the guidance and direct supervision of the WGEO Senior Director, the Membership and Sponsorship Manager is responsible to expand and manage our membership base, as well as cultivating relationships with sponsors to support our initiatives. The Membership and Sponsorship Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract new members, retain existing ones, and secure sponsorship opportunities to drive the organization’s growth.

    Reporting Line: The Membership and Sponsorship Manager reports to the Senior Director, WGEO- Secretariat Office in Dubai, UAE.

    Summary of Key Accountabilities:

    Membership Management:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive membership strategy to attract a diverse range of organizations and individuals.
    • Review and enhance the current membership model to create a model to attract and retain lifelong members.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to create engaging membership benefits and ensure member satisfaction.
    • Manage the membership database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.

    Sponsorship Development:
    • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential sponsors aligned with WGEO’s mission and values.
    • Create compelling sponsorship packages and proposals to present to potential sponsors.
    • Negotiate sponsorship agreements and ensure fulfillment of sponsorship commitments.

    Networking and Outreach:
    • Represent WGEO at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the organization and attract new members and sponsors.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with current members and sponsors.

    Communication and Marketing:
    • Collaborate with the communication and marketing teams to develop promotional materials highlighting membership benefits and sponsorship opportunities.
    • Ensure effective communication with members and sponsors through newsletters, updates, and events.

    Financial Management:
    • Work closely with the finance team to track membership dues, sponsorship revenue, and ensure financial targets are met.

    Expected Outcome and KPIs:
    Membership Growth: Increase the overall membership base through the implementation of innovative strategies.
    KPI: Achieve YoY an increase in the overall paid membership base compared to the previous year increase.
    Measurement: Quarterly and yearly membership acquisition rates.

    Membership Retention:
    Increase members’ satisfaction by proactively address any challenges related to membership retention and continuously improve the overall member experience.
    KPI: Achieve higher membership retention rate annually.
    Measurement: Compare the number of renewing members to the total membership base, with a focus on identifying and addressing any issues contributing to attrition.

    Diversity in Membership:
    Diversify the profile of members by attracting a wider range of organizations and individuals, ensuring representation from various sectors of the green economy.
    KPI: Increase diversity YoY by attracting more members from underrepresented sectors or demographics.
    Measurement: Quarterly demographic analysis of new members.

    Enhanced Membership Model:
    Develop and implement an improved membership model that aligns with industry trends and best practices, resulting in increased member satisfaction and engagement.
    KPI: Successfully implement and maintain an updated membership model.
    Measurement: Annual Members Feedback surveys, membership renewal rates, and engagement metrics.

    Sponsorship Revenue:
    Achieve an increase in sponsorship revenue through the identification and cultivation of strong partnerships with existing and new sponsors that share WGEO’s mission and values.
    KPI: Attain YoY an increase in sponsorship revenue compared to the previous year.
    Measurement: annual financial reports.

    Sponsorship Fulfillment:
    Ensure the successful fulfillment of sponsorship commitments, fostering long-term relationships with sponsors and creating a positive impact on the organization’s financial sustainability.
    KPI: Achieve YoY a higher satisfaction rate among sponsors regarding the fulfillment of commitments.
    Measurement: Annual Sponsor feedback surveys and quarterly check-ins.

    Knowledge / Experience/ Skills:
    • 5-7 years of working experience preferable
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
    • Proven experience in membership management, sponsorship development, sales, business development or a related field.
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
    • Familiarity with environmental sustainability and green economy concepts is desirable.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
    • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
