Statement on COVID-19

The global community is grappling with an unprecedented crisis brought about by the impacts of COVID-19, the true extent of which are not known but which we know will change our world forever. We, at the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO), are playing our part in ensuring the safety of our partners, colleagues, stakeholders and the community at large.

With that in mind, we would like to inform you that WGEO Office remains open for business but non-essential travel has been suspended and physical events that were scheduled for 2020 have been put on hold for the moment. We are working closely with our partners and members to ensure business continuity in this challenging time and are exploring virtual modalities of engagement to advance our activities and programs in pursuit of the transition to a green economy.

Furthermore, all WGEO staff are currently working from home until further notice with only essential staff in office on a need basis.

More than ever we are committed to facilitating and supporting the transition to green economies worldwide. And, it cannot be denied that the post-COVID recovery will be a chance for the global community to rebuild greener, stronger and more resilient. It will be crucial to place the green economy at the center of the recovery to ensure a resilient and sustainable future for the planet and the peoples that call it home. And, WGEO is dedicated to supporting that goal.

We hope you and your families are safe and well, and thank you for your support in this time.
