MENA CLIMATE WEEK

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Climate Week will act as a platform to advance organizations’ work by engaging with key regional actors and play a critical role in bringing regional needs and outcomes to the global climate change processes. Climate Week will additionally primarily focus on mobilizing climate finance for sustainable development.

Partners and key regional players have expressed a need for a multipurpose regional platform to bring together different stakeholders from the MENA to engage on climate action, climate finance, improve technical capacity in the region, increase awareness, and facilitate the sharing of knowledge, including on finance, technology and capacity-building.

MENA Climate Week will help to foster engagement between the public and private sector, cities and municipalities, academia and civil society, with the common goal of addressing the climate emergency. It will provide an opportunity to discuss climate action, key vulnerabilities and challenges from a distinct MENA perspective. Climate Week will also act as host to the global Needs-based Finance conference, which will showcase the development and implementation of the country-led climate finance mobilization and access strategies in over 100 countries.
