HH Mohammed bin Rashid launches World Green Economy Organization

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched today The World Green Economy Organization “WGEO”, based in Dubai, in a move that aims to promote green economy concept regionally and globally.
Sheikh Mohammed said that the new organization will be supported and encouraged by governments and international organizations, and he expressed his confidence that countries will join the WGEO which is tasked to facilitate dialogue between countries and provide supports and technical assistance to its members.
The new organization was launched on The World Green Economy Summit (WGES), which is being held in Dubai World Trade Center, in the presence of Dubai Crown Prince, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, HH Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and HH Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The WGEO is an initiative of Dubai Government, which also support it along United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
