About World Green
Economy Organization
The World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) emerged in response to the priorities and concerns identified from Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in 2012 as an organization intended to support emerging global actions towards the green, low-carbon, climate-resilient development model.
WGEO seeks to promote the widespread acceptance and increased importance of the green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication, by linking financing, technology and capacity-building.
Member States
WGEO emerged in response to the priorities and concerns identified from Rio+20 in 2012 to the recent passage of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Climate Change Agreement that has seen strong levels of commitment by world leaders to support emerging global actions towards a low carbon climate resilient economy.
The purpose of WGEO is to provide systematic and holistic catalytic support to the promotion of the green economy. As a multi-stakeholder, action-oriented collaboration framework, WGEO will support efficient and effective implementation of innovative programs and projects, facilitate technology transfer and policy dialogue and norm-setting facilitating investments in the green economy, and support mobilization of financial resources, technical assistance and capacity building.
WGEO Platforms
Platforms are the key mechanism for the implementation of WGEO’s programs, they operate as a framework for cooperation and collaboration between State Members and Non-state Members.

The Global Alliance On Green
Economy (GAGE)
The Global Alliance on Green Economy (GAGE) was launched during the Ministerial Roundtable on Green Economy at the World Green Economy Summit 2022 in Dubai, UAE. The Global Alliance on Green Economy, spearheaded by the UAE Government and the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO), aims to build countries’ capacities in transitioning to a green economy through technical and technological assistance, establish a support platform for matchmaking, and enhance country exchanges.
