Internship Overview
The World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) requires an Intern to support the Youth and Academia Platform for a period of six (6) months.
The intern will provide support mainly in the following areas:
The intern will support activities related to sustainability, green economy, climate action, youth empowerment, education and academia, including research, stakeholder coordination, programme implementation, meetings and events.
Main Responsibilities
- Research and Analysis
Support research and analysis on sustainability, green economy, climate action, youth empowerment, education and academia, including the preparation of briefing notes, summaries, presentations and background research.
- Stakeholder Coordination
Assist with communication, coordination and follow-up with universities, youth organizations, partners, speakers and other relevant stakeholders.
- Youth and Academia Programme Support
Provide administrative and coordination support for youth and academia programmes, initiatives and related activities.
- Meetings, Workshops and Roundtables
Assist with the organization and coordination of meetings, workshops, youth programmes, roundtables and other activities.
- Event Support
Support event preparations, including invitations, participant coordination, agendas, presentations, meeting materials, minutes and follow-up actions.
- Documentation and Presentations
Assist in preparing and maintaining presentations, reports, briefing materials, programme documentation and other relevant records.
- Digital and Content Support
Support the preparation of PowerPoint presentations, Word and Excel documents and, where required, basic content and design materials.
- Other Support
Perform other related duties and assignments in support of the Youth and Academia Platform as required.
Preferred Profile / Intern Requirements
- Education: Current university student or recent graduate in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, International Relations, Public Policy, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Interest: Strong interest in sustainability, green economy, climate action, youth empowerment, and education/academia.
- Research: Good research and analytical skills, including ability to prepare briefing notes, summaries, presentations, and background research.
- Communication: Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic would be an advantage.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Comfortable communicating and following up with universities, youth organizations, partners, speakers, and other stakeholders.
- Programme & Event Support: Ability to assist with meetings, workshops, youth programmes, roundtables, events, invitations, participant coordination, agendas, minutes, and follow-ups.
- Digital Skills: Strong PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills; Canva or other basic design/content tools would be an advantage.
- Personal Competencies: Organized, proactive, detail-oriented, able to multitask, and comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.
