1st Private Sector Platform Forum of World Green Economy Organization

The Forum will facilitate progress towards adoption of an actionable framework allowing WGEO to engage effectively with private sector platform members in the pursuit of its objectives. The Forum will provide an overview of WGEO’s core functions and innovative features as a multi-stakeholder institution that gives a voice to stakeholders in decision making and relies on non-state members for funding and implementation of operational activities. The target group for attendance were high-level officials from governments, international development agencies and the private sector.

The objectives of the 1st Private Sector Platform Forum were:

Facilitate dialogue and knowledge exchange within a collaborative community of multisectoral leaders from business and governments to leverage the strengths of multiple sectors and disciplines to yield benefits of transitioning to green economy.

Showcase potential bankable projects for private-sector engagement through WGEO’s Private Sector Platform

Mark the first gathering of WGEO Private Sector Platform members, to discuss opportunities and overcome barriers in the formation of public–private partnerships, to meet country-level sustainable development priorities.

Explore a range of green transformative topics to accelerate the transition to a new model of growth, act on the urgency of climate change and meet global development challenges.
